Casual fans might have giggled when they saw him, but true and die-hard ones immediately realized that this was extremely important and might have repercussions for the future. This article contains spoilers, so turn away if you have yet to watch Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The unexpected and fantastic Star Wars villain cameo
If you are still here, then you already know that the infamous Star Wars prequels villain Darth Maul made an unexpected appearance. Unexpected because, you know, he was supposed to be dead after a young Obi-Wan Kenobi cut him in half. This happened during Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, but it seems that he somehow survived.
The character was also used in both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels animated series, but to see him after he was supposedly killed means a lot. Darth Maul, now only going by Maul, had a pair of cybernetic legs, probably held together by the force. So far, we don’t know anything about his connection with the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate, but this will certainly be revealed.
