‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ appeared in 2000 as a comedy TV series where a version of Larry David dives into an introspection of the modern American life. Since then, the production has been receiving incremental appreciation which materialized in many awards such as Golden Globe and Emmy. However, the TV show came to a stop in 2011. The end of this journey turned out to be just a large hiatus until a new season was scheduled for October 1, 2017.
The TV Show Managed to Gather the Same Recurring Cast for the New Season
The upcoming episodes in ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ will feature a slew of celebrities. Some of these will be Nasim Pedrad, Jimmy Kimmel, Bryan Cranston, Lauren Graham, Elizabeth Perkins, Nick Offerman, and many others. HBO announced the return of the much-acclaimed TV show on Wednesday during the summer press tour of the Television Critics Association.
On top of that, they confirmed to their fans that they would get to see the same recurring cast as before. Larry David will still impersonate himself, together with other actors such as Susie Essman, JB Smoove, and Jeff Garlin. Director Jeff Schaffer will have by his side Larry Charles, Jessie Nelson, Robert B. Weide, and Bryan Gordon to create the ten-episode ninth season of the popular HBO comedy.
Larry David showed up together with Schaffer, Smoove, Garlin, and Essman after HBO’s TCA session to talk about resuming their work after a six-year hiatus. David assured the public that the show won’t linger over melancholia but that they will add a lot of different angles.
Larry David Will Return on HBO on Sunday, October 1
David had to answer the question why he decided to revive this show. Despite his cynical personality, the famed Seinfeld co-creator offered an honest and even sentimental answer in his own style. He stated that he usually doesn’t miss anything yet the team behind ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ was an exception.
“I’m not a misser. I don’t really miss things, people that much, but I was missing it, and I was missing these idiots.”
Therefore, HBO will broadcast season premiere on Sunday, October 1, at 10 p.m. Once the show starts, viewers will be served with a fresh dish of humor in Larry David style.
