There is a lot going on the new DC film production as Superman’s next standalone title has been scheduled for 2020. But the other, more interesting detail, is that “Mad Max: Fury Road”’s director George Miller will be taking Synder’s place as the new man in charge. Some fans might think that this is an excellent idea, while others might want to take Synder’s side and ask him to come back and direct the second Man of Steel.
According to DC Movie News, Miller will hold “Man of Steel 2”’cinto his hands because Zack Synder is interested in going on with the Justice League. John Schnepp admitted to DC Movies News that he believes Miller is the right choice and that he will make sure that Synder’s Man of Steel legacy will move on.
“George Miller, he’s doing Man of Steel 2.Obviously Zack Snyder is doing Justice League 1 and 2, we already got James Wan doing Aquaman – Waterman I think they should change the title- but yeah I think George Miller is a perfect choice to do Man of Steel 2, he’s going to bring so much to it.”
In Screen Rant’s opinion, Miller is actually a way better choice for the Man of Steel series, as his success with “Mad Max: Fury Road” has put him on the radar as one of the most desired directors in Hollywood. The report mentioned that Miller is quite an imaginative director and he could reshape the hero’s image into a more unique one instead of relying on Synder’s “realism”.
Moreover, Miller appears to be a really good story-seller after the events of Mad Max as he could mix action, emotion and characters into a movie without making it seem that either one of these subjects has some sort of leakage. This is very difficult to do in general, so pulling it off made Miller seem like the perfect decision.
There is no actual plan on whether Miller will take on a “Mad Max” series or not, but since Warner Bros. is running the entire business, it will be no surprise if he accepts the challenge that Man of Steel has to offer.
