Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Hold Hands in Public at First Royal Ascot

June 20, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

On Tuesday, the newly-appointed Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their one-month wedding anniversary in style. Also, Meghan Markle made her official debut at her first Royal Ascot. However, what surprised some people was the amount of tender touches that the two newlyweds shared in the public eye, gestures that usually, are frowned upon in the royal family. The two looked inseparable and so in love that it was impossible for someone who has been living under a rock to not realize that they are married.

Throughout the course of the entire event, the two were seen either holding hands or linking arms. Even if they sat across from each other while they entered on a carriage that was drawn by horses, that didn’t stop them from packing on the PDA later. They were sweetly walking arm in arm among all the other attendees at this very special event. The Duchess of Sussex could be seen holding on to her husband’s arm while making her way through the crowd. Apart form this, she also put her hand on Prince Harry’s back a few times, a clear sign of tenderness and love.

It’s interesting that if for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, all this PDA, hand-holding and back rubbing is something normal, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not that all out. Prince William and Kate Middleton usually avoid such tender gestures in public. When they attended their first Royal Ascot together back in 2016, they displayed a more restrained behavior.

There is a reason for this, however. Because Prince William is the future King, after his father, Prince Charles, who will follow Queen Elizabeth II, he and Kate need to keep a professional image in public. Still, experts have noticed that Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall are often seen holding hands in public. It seems that it is, after all, a matter of choice and preference.

Louis Spencer, The New Royal Making Waves

May 24, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Buckingham Palace

During the recent and very beautiful royal wedding, everyone’s eyes were glued, and rightfully so, on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, a lot of people, mostly women, also noticed another handsome man sitting to the side of the gorgeous St. George’s Chapel: Louis Spencer. He is both the first cousin of Prince William and Prince harry, as well as the Viscount Althorp, the son of Princess Diana’s brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer. You might remember his as the man who delivered the eulogy at the late princess’ funeral. As for Louis Spencer, at 24-years old, he is seemingly the new royal that’s been making waves since more people discovered him.

His title of viscount means that he is positioned below an earl but above a baron in the British rankings. The equivalent for a woman would be viscountess. As most people probably already know, both Prince William, with his wife Kate, and Prince Harry, with his wife Meghan, have received the royal titles of Dukes and Duchesses, respectively. Spencer also has three sisters, who wee also at the royal wedding: Amelia, Eliza and Kitty, who people noticed for her uncanny resemblance to Diana.

Women couldn’t help but notice his good looks which he probably partly inherited from his aunt, Princess Diana. His mother, Victoria Aitken, is also very beautiful and a former model. His sister Kitty also models for various campaigns. So, good looks probably runs in the family.

It’s interesting that some people already knew about him way before the royal wedding. In fact, back in 2015, rapper Nicki Minaj posted a picture of them when he visited her backstage for a meet-and greet. As for whether he is still available for a marriage, the answer would be yes. So, ladies should not lose their hope yet. Anything can happen.

Check out our wedding photo. 😂😂😂😂 👸👸👸👸👸👸👸❤️ no honestly it was such an honor to have you guys. 🙏

Duke and Duchess of Sussex Make First Appearance After Wedding

May 23, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Duchess of Sussex greeting the crowd

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have taken part in their first official royal engagement since they’ve become a married couple, just three days after the royal wedding. The newlyweds attended a garden party to celebrate Prince Charles’ 70th anniversary, who is now Markle’s father-in-law, at Buckingham Palace. Meghan turned heads with her beautiful and elegant outfit, a cream dress with long mesh sleeves and a gorgeous, matching hat.

As for Prince Harry, he held an emotional speech about his beloved father who, one day, will become the next King of England. In his speech, he admitted that he has always inspired both him and Prince William through his work. His efforts will surely make a difference one day. Apart from this, the Duke of Sussex also paid a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Manchester Arena attack which took place one year ago. He thanked the members of the emergency services and said that their bravery saved lives. The royal family also invited a large number of representatives of the police, ambulance, fire, mountain rescue and royal military to take part in the celebrations.

The royals wanted to greet all of them personally and to thank them for their services. Apart from this, one of the celebrity guests at the royal wedding, Late, Late Show host James Corden, revealed that an allergy almost got him in trouble. Right when the archbishop was asking if anyone knows any reason why they shouldn’t get married, Corden was struggling to hold in some sneezes. It would have indeed been the worst moment to sneeze.

Moreover, it seems that the children who took part in the iconic wedding photos were bribed with Smarties, a type of candy that resembles M&Ms. This allowed the photographer, Alexi Lubomirski, to take those amazing photos.

Meghan Markle’s Father Won’t Attend Royal Wedding

May 15, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

It seems that Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle’s father, has recently announced that he is not going to attend this weekend’s royal wedding, the special day when his daughter is going to marry Britain’s Prince Harry. Because of this, people have already begun speculating about who will walk the future bride down the aisle, if her father won’t attend the event. Actually, this is one the last of a series of challengers that the future royal couple has been struggling with since November, when they officially announced their engagement.

On Saturday, the two are going to officially tie the know in a grand ceremony which will take place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. On Monday, Thomas Markle said that he will not be attending the wedding because he doesn’t want to embarrass his daughter. The reason for this is a series of photos that, according to him, are staged. According to reports, Thomas Markle worked with a picture agency to have some photos taken of him supposedly preparing for the big day. Now, he thinks that it was a stupid idea and now, he doesn’t want to embarrass his daughter, family, or the royal family.

Meghan Markle’s father won’t attend the royal wedding

Moreover, on Monday, Markle’s half-sister, Samantha, admitted that she urged their father to take these photos so that he might improve his image. So, because of this decision, people are now wondering who will walk Meghan down the aisle when the big moment comes. For now, there are three possible solutions: her mother, Doria Ragland, Prince Charles or Prince William.

Ragland could be the one to take the place of her father, with Prince Charles closely behind. As for the controversy regarding the guest list, Kensington Palace announced that no political leaders would be invited to the wedding. So, The Trumps and the Obamas will certainly be a no-show.

Experts Predict a Modern Wedding Dress for Meghan Markle

May 2, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Meghan Markle wearing an army uniform

With the royal wedding approaching, there only one question that is hanging on everybody’s lips: what wedding dress will Meghan Markle wear for her big day? With less than 20 days until the big event, the preparations are on and people’s excitement is growing. One thing is sure: nobody knows too much about the design that she will be wearing. This is why many experts have begun theorizing about his topic. Among them is Vera Wang, the famous celebrity bridal designer who has worked with everyone from Chelsea Clinton to Victoria Beckham.

In a recent interview, Wang revealed that Meghan Markle will not be wearing one of her designs. This makes everyone think that she will either go to a British or an American designer. It’s highly possible that she will go down the British route, to accentuate her new position and role in the royal family. As for the style of the gown, Wang is sure that she will choose something more modern than Kate Middleton or Princess Diana. She will probably wear a simple yet modern design that won’t scream wedding dress but won’t be too subtle either.

Meghan Markle’s mysterious wedding dress

It’s very important that Meghan is not marrying the future king, because her dress will speak volumes about that. She will most certainly not be too royal, but she will be elegant enough for a member of the royal family. As for her makeup, experts think that Meghan will choose something simple and timeless. According to her former makeup artist, Lydia Sellers, she prefers dewy-looking skin which lets her freckles peer through.

Meghan also loves a sheer lip and a subtle smoky eye even during the day, with voluminous lashes. The most important thing for her will be to look and feel like herself and she will most certainly do that.

Prince Philip Admitted to Hospital for Hip Surgery

April 4, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Prince Philip outside

According to a recent announcement from the Buckingham Palace, 96-year-old Prince Philip has been admitted to hospital for hip surgery. The Palace said that this procedure was planned ahead and nothing bad happened recently with the Duke of Edinburgh’s health state. It’s interesting that back in August 2017, he officially retired from public life. However, in recent weeks, he has missed some events that he initially planned on attending. He missed the traditional Maundy church service on March 29 because he was struggling with his hip problems.

The service took place at the St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same place where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to wed on May 19. Prince Philip also missed the April 1st Easter service as St. George’s Chapel too. So, after missing two important events in one week, the Prince is finally undergoing the hip surgery to correct any problems that he might have. Over the past 70 years, Prince Philip attended over 22,000 solo appearances before deciding to retire from public life last year.

Prince Philip to undergo a planned hip surgery

Also last year, in June, he received treatment for an infection which happened due to a pre-existing condition. He spent two nights in hospital back then, but nobody knows whether it had anything to do with his hip problems. His final public appearance took place in August 2017, and he served in his role as Captain General Royal Marines, presiding over a parade.

Shortly after that, his job of Captain General was passed on to Prince Harry. Prince Philip seemed in good spirits when he attended the Christmas morning church service. The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family joined him, including Prince Harry’s future wife, Meghan Markle. At the moment, it’s a mystery for how long the Prince will remain in hospital this time.

Meghan Markle and Her Father to Receive Coat of Arms

March 26, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Meghan Markle and a co-star during a convention

It seems that Prince Harry’s future royal bride, former actress Meghan Markle, is going to receive her own coat of arms following the royal wedding which takes place in May. However, she will not be the only one because her father might receive one too. According to a source with knowledge of the royal traditions, her father will receive a coat of arms because his daughter will be married to someone who is part of the royal family. And it wouldn’t be the first time either. Kate Middleton’s father also got one, as well as Sophie Rhys-Jones’ father, when she married Prince Edward.

However, even if the tradition is there, things are not yet completely finalized. It also depends on whether or nor Mr. Markle wishes to receive one or not. So far, nobody knows anything about this. As for Michael Middleton, Kate’s father, he had a gold chevron in his own coat of arms. This is because the former British Airways flight dispatcher wanted to use something in reference to his wife’s maiden name, Goldsmith. Apart from this, his coat of arms also had three acorns, representing his three children, Kate, Pippa and James.

Meghan Markle’s father might receive a coat of arms too

But if this is still a mystery, the Kensington Palace has already confirmed that Meghan Markle is indeed going to have her own coat of arms. Many expect it to appear on the souvenir program for the royal wedding, in May. John Petrie, Herald in Waiting at the College of Arms and the man responsible with her coat of arms explained that there is no doubt that she will get one. It’s tradition, and she automatically qualifies for a coat of arms.

The royal coat of arms is the official one that the British monarch uses. It contains four quarters and usually, it can be customized to represent the person’s characters and passions.

New Fossil Discovery Suggests Modern Humans Left Africa Earlier Than Previously Thought

January 26, 2018 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Modern humans left Africa sooner than what scientists previously thought.

A new fossil suggests that modern humans left Africa earlier than what was previously believed.

Archaeologists discovered in Israel the oldest fossil of a modern human outside Africa, suggesting to an earlier human migration from the continent.

Scientists were digging in a cave called Misliya at the base of Mount Carmel on the northern coast of Israel, one of a series of prehistoric caves. According to Mina Weinstein- Evron of the Zinman Institute at the University of Haifa, and who led the team, the cave was home to a number of ancient humans before it collapsed She states that the cave had been occupied for several hundred thousand years.

The archaeological evidence found in the Misliya cave suggested that the humans were hunter-gatherers. They mostly hunted ungulates, such as fallow deer, aurochs, and other small animals, Weinstein- Evron added.

What’s even more noteworthy were the stone tools that they found, which were made using an ancient African technique called Levallois, dating back 300 thousand years ago. The technique is considered to have been used by both humans and Neanderthals.

Weinstein- Evron and her team wanted to know which species of humans lived in the cave, and they eventually found their answer after extensive digging.

“ And among the animal bones and flint tools, we found a jawbone, an upper jawbone of an individual,” she says.

According to the archaeologist, the jawbone resembled that of modern humans. The teeth on the fossil were still intact. Israel Hershkovitz, a paleoanthropologist who was part of the team that studied the fossil, said that the jawbone had pre-molars, molars, canine teeth and the lateral incisor.

After analyzing the fossils, researchers confirmed that it belonged to someone from our species, the Homo sapiens. More so, the fossil was between 177 thousand and 194 thousand years old, making it the oldest known fossil outside Africa.

Michael Petraglia of the Max Planck Institute for The Science of Human History, notes how earlier evidence suggested that Homo sapiens migrated out of Africa approximately 120 years ago.

The discovery would suggest that there were a number of earlier migrations out of the African continent, he added.

The findings were reported in the journal, Science.

Donald Trump Nods to Japan Emperor and Endorses U.S weaponry

November 6, 2017 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

Donald Trump North Korea Shinzo Abe Emperor of Japan

As part of his 12 day Asia trip, Donald Trump has met with Japan Emperor Akihiro

President Donald Trump met Japan’s Emperor Akihito on Monday and did not bow his head as is customary. Trump instead slightly lowered his head to the leader.

Trump has not named a Chief of Protocol

Bowing is widely regarded as an important sign of respect in Japan. While the tradition is getting sidelined in favor of handshakes thanks to globalization, a bow is still very much key in greeting a leader. Breaking from a long-standing tradition of bowing to Japanese Emperors may disrupt any diplomatic balance the U.S has at the moment. The reason as to why this happened points to Donald Trump not having a Chief of Protocol. He is responsible for all matters regarding etiquette and diplomacy. Sean P. Lauler who worked in diplomacy for the Navy and National Security Council is Trump’s current nominee however he has yet to be confirmed.

The U.S has the best military equipment “by far”

On the same day, the president stated that Japan could have a better defense against North Korea if they’d bought American military equipment. Trump met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and emphasized his disappointment in Japan’s ignorance against North Korean missile testing over its soil.

Trump then reassured the public that once Abe buys a hefty portion of U.S arsenal, he will “shoot them out of the sky”. Shinzo Abe noted Japan would shoot down North Korea’s missiles “if necessary”.

The president is currently on his 12-day Asian trip that would establish ways to deal with the North Korean nuclear threat. Trump has called Kim Jong-Un @ rocket man” this time toning it down and calling Pyongyang’s weapon program a “threat to the civilized world”.

Shinzo Abe clarified that Japan and the U.S are allies through and through and that together they can put North Korea in a corner. A representative for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Hua Chunying was left cold by Abe’s stance stating that the North Korean situation is too sensitive and complex to treat it this aggressively.

Rihanna and French President Macron Debated Education Goals

July 28, 2017 By Dustin Davis Leave a Comment

rihanna

Pop star Rihanna seems resolute in her decision to boost the international state of education. One of her most important steps in this direction was this week’s meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two of them sat together to talk about education goals and how they can take action on their findings.

Rihanna Announced Only That She Would Have a Big Announcement to Make in September Following Her Meeting with Macron

On Wednesday, pop singer Rihanna participated in a one-on-one meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. After their Paris discussion, Macron turned to Twitter to confess that the 264 million children who don’t have access to education have become a priority to him.

Macron also tagged some social action groups such as Global Citizen and the Clara Lionel Foundation that Rihanna started. The Global Partnership shared with its followers details on their global ambassador’s agenda with Macron which contains a fund raising initiative for global education goals.

Rihanna also participated in a press conference after her appointment with the French President. She declared that the two of them debated crucial topics on education from different angles. However, the celebrity and Global Partnership ambassador revealed no clear conclusions of the meeting. On the other hand, she did disclose that there is going to be an important announcement in September.

Thank you Mr. President @EmmanuelMacron and Madame First Lady for the incredible meeting and passion for global and girls education! ??

— Rihanna (@rihanna) July 26, 2017

Rihanna Activates for the Education Goals Set by the Global Partnership

Nonetheless, this is not Rihanna’s first interaction with a high-profile leader. The influencer appealed to several other countries such as Canada, Argentina, and Germany. Her social media proposal encouraged all these nations to work together to mobilize efforts for education funding. The post was seen by at least 75 million online users who constitute the community that follows the artistic career and activism of Rihanna.

The pop singer is helping the Global Partnership to reach its 2020 goals. The most urgent matter is to raise a total of $2 billion in three years. All these funds will aid 89 countries. Unfortunately, all these nationals constitute 78% of world’s populations without access to education.

Israeli Leader Confesses by Mistake Assaults of Iranian Convoys

July 21, 2017 By Sandy Morton Leave a Comment

benjamin netanyahu

Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu wasn’t aware that the microphones were working during a private international meeting.

On Wednesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with eastern European officials behind closed doors. However, the microphones in the room of the private meeting were accidentally active. As a consequence, several journalists gained access to some exclusive confessions. Therefore, they received confirmation from the Israeli leader for unofficial assaults of Iranian convoys that took place dozens of times.

Journalists Received Confirmation that Israeli Did Play an Active Part in Syrian War

Israel used to display a neutral position in regards to the Syrian civil war. In the meantime, the Israeli air force was enveloped in suspicions of launching airstrikes against Hezbollah. This is an Islamist militant organization from Lebanon that works in the direction of the regime imposed by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Therefore, officials of Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia together with journalists that were not in the room heard Prime Minister’s statement. He claimed that his country was directly involved in the onslaught against Iranian shipments that carried weapons to Hezbollah.

“I told [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, when we see them transferring weapons to Hezbollah, we will hurt them. We did it dozens of times.”

Despite these military orders, Israel was one of the top countries that offered aid to local Syrian fighters. On Wednesday, officials stated that one of world’s humanitarian operations “Good Neighbors” offered support to around 200,000 civilians located at Golan Heights on Syrian soil. Their help consisted of hundreds of tons of food and medicine, 50 tons of clothing, and 450,000 liters of gasoline.

Israeli Leader Netanyahu Is Not Content with How EU Works with His Country

On the other hand, the unofficial confession of the Israeli leader was full of criticism directed at the European Union. Netanyahu shared his views with global officials which concerned the idea that Europe might crumble. That’s because the only international association that interacts with Israel is also undermining this country.

Therefore, Netanyahu believes that EU has to show same technological cooperation with them as Russia, India, and China do. However, he found Trump administration’s decisions on Syrian war as laudable. In the end, Prime Minister underlined the fact that Israel is also part of Europe and deserves more support from this part of the world.

South and North Korea Might Open up Rare Talks on Their Current Relationship

July 17, 2017 By Bonnie Gleason Leave a Comment

soth korean president

South Korea got itself a new President, Moon Jae-in, after the impeachment of the former one, Park Geun-hye. One of his first decisions within his new political position was to send an invitation to its neighbor. This move intends to open up the two divided parts of Korea to rare talks. This meeting might tackle sensitive topics such as the nuclear program and family reunions.

If South and North Korea Honor These Rare Talks, It Would Be the First Contact in Two Years

South Korea’s offer was sent on Monday, and it represents the first sign of contact towards North Korea since the election of Moon Jae-in. However, the initiative originates from the Red Cross in Seoul. This organization plans to support family reunions. The 1950-53 Korean war separated many of them.

South’s defense ministry suggested a meeting on July 22 and the village of Panmunjom as the meeting location. At the same time, Seoul’s Red Cross proposed the date of August 1 and agreed on the same venue.

If the two nations open up to such rare talks, this would mean the first direct contact between them since December 2015. Moon’s predecessor nurtured conservative ideas and denied any line of dialogue. Only if Pyongyang renounced from its nuclear program would have Park Geun-hye accepted a meeting.

The North Wishes to Reopen Lines of Communication with Its Neighbor

The border between South and North Korea is extremely fortified which enables almost no kind of contact between the civilians of the two sides. Therefore, many families that were divided by the long conflict that halved the peninsula lost track of their siblings. Around 60,000 family members are still trapped in the South.

Cho Myoung-gyon is the official in charge of North Korea affairs. He stated that the South has no intention to use these rare talks to attempt a unification or render any damages to the North. Instead, they seek to open a line of communication with the North. This invitation concerns even the reopening of a military hotline.
