Never Lose Your Keys, Phone or Dog with Tile Tracker App

The latest generation of the Bluetooth tracking device Tile now allows you to find not only your keys but also your missing smartphone even when its volume settings are to a minimum.

Tile is a Bluetooth tracker the size of a 1.5 postage stamp and no thicker than three stacked quarters. It can be attached to your keys, backpack, purse, devices, phone, and even your dog and kids.

First you need to install the app on your smartphone or other device if you believe that your smartphone may also start to play hide and seek with you. When you just lost something you need only to press the ‘Find’ button in the Tile app. Instantly, the Tile tracker attached to your lost item starts to beep.

The latest version of the tracker is somehow revamped. Now the sound is three times louder and the range within the app can detect your lost keys has been extended to 100 feet.

Tile uses Bluetooth technology to find lost items. Plus, it can be run on both Android and iOS systems.

Another cool stuff added to the new version of the tracking app is the “Community Find” feature. If your items are really hard to find or out of range you can enable Community Find so that the system can track your missing keys even when you are not around by just using the Tile system of a random user located within the range of your lost object.

If that user gets close to your lost item Tile sends an anonymous update of the location to the Tile system so theoretically you can see on a map where exactly those keys are.

The latest version of Tile has another interesting feature to test. You can track your missing smartphone faster and easier than dialing its number. You will only need to tap twice the “e” button on the app to make your last phone make a loud sound regardless of the volume setting. Tile is faster than Find My iPhone or other apps designed to spot mission smartphones and it can work even when your phone is muted.

Also, you can go to the app’s website to find your missing phone or device on a map. But a good backup plan would be to convince your spouse, friend etc to install the Tile app on their phone as well… just in case.

You can buy and test a Tile Bluetooth tag for $25 a piece. But if you decide to buy four you can get them for $70.
