Dunkin’ Donuts welcomes competition, or so it transpires from official statements regarding the brand’s place in the quick-service restaurant sector.
As McDonald’s entered a new era of all-day breakfast serving starting October 6th, all major players in the QSR sector turned their eyes on how well the move fares. Others have joined an all-day breakfast platform before and are driven by competitivity and curiosity. IHOP, Jack in the Box, Denny’s and others have already introduced all-day breakfast for their customers.
Dunkin’ Donuts, brand of the Dunkin’ Brand Group Inc. is still waiting for the right moment. However, this doesn’t mean the QSR player has anything to fear. Quite to the contrary, Dunkin’ Donuts welcomes competition.
On October 1st, the Canton-based company held a presentation hosting analysts and investors. The all-day breakfast platform is becoming increasingly crowded. How does Dunkin’ Donuts plan to compete or fare in the growing sector?
Chris Fuqua, the VP of brand marketing and global consumer insights, as well as product innovation at Dunkin’ Donuts replied:
“I think competition exists every single day of the year in our industry. Breakfast is the biggest part of QSR that’s growing. When one of the biggest players out there gets into breakfast all-day, obviously we pay attention”.
He continued to say that indeed Dunkin’ Donuts welcomes competition. Nonetheless, in the opinion of the VP, there are other points in which the brand fares well above other competitors. For instance, coffee. Delivering a fantastic coffee experience is welcomed by customers who rejoice in the increased cup size. Another strong point is wrapped in the sandwiches offered by Dunkin’ Donuts. Perks Program? That too helps the brand in keeping afloat and in line with its competitors.
Coffee has helped Dunkin’s business reach a new statute as a coffee player. Accompanied by delicious sandwich in the morning or otherwise, it keeps bringing customers in. As for sandwiches, the company is planning to keep bringing additions to its offering list.
Soon, the Sweet Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich will be featuring on the menu. The four bacon pieces rolled with pepper, a sugary crust, towering above one egg and wrapped in a butter croissant roll will deliver a new experience to customers.
Later one, the arrival of the Bacon Lovers Sausage Sandwich is also expected to drive sales. Most of the food sales at Dunkin’ Donuts locations are registered after 11 a.m., with bakery products and donuts priming.
