Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow have recently announced that Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law’s Sherlock Holmes 3 is scheduled to come out on Christmas Day, 2020. Downey Jr. is going to portray the legendary British detective once again, while Law will be his faithful assistant and friend, Doctor Watson. A director is yet to be announced for the upcoming project. The producers of the third installment of the popular franchise are Joel Silver, Susan Downey and Lionel Wigram. It seems that Chris Brancato has already penned the script.
This third installment will open nine years after the second movie, called Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. That one made about $545.4 million at the worldwide box office. The original movie came out back in 2009 and introduced the world to a new kind of Sherlock Holmes. Guy Ritchie directed both of them but at the moment, it’s uncertain if he will return for the third one too. Apart from this, it was recently announced that James Cameron’s highly-anticipated Avatar 2 is going to open on December 18, 2020, followed by Sing 2, on December 25th.

Moreover, it seems that there is a new film, television and content company around called Boomerang Production Media. Its first movie will be Collusions, a crime drama starring Tom Everett Scott, whom you may know from Academy Award-winner La La Land.
It seems that Universal recently managed to acquire the North American right to the movie called An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn, with Aubrey Plaza. It actually debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and it also stars Emile Hirsch and Jemaine Clement, among others. Plaza portrays Lulu Danger, who is fired from a cappuccino shop by her husband. But everything changes when she sees a TV commercial that reveals a familiar face from her past, role played by Craig Robinson.
