It seems that the famous natural and dewy makeup that Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle wore for her royal wedding has recently become a runway sensation too. Last Friday, the models who walked the runway at the Dior Cruise 2019 could be seen wearing a similar kind of natural makeup. The creative and image director for Dior Makeup, Peter Philips, said that for their big premiere at Windsor, a bride model wore a Meghan Markle-inspired look. According to him, it’s runway-proof, aisle-proof, and even sidewalk-proof, in the sense that anyone can wear it.
As for Markle’s own makeup artist, Daniel Martin, he said that for her wedding day, he did nothing more than enhance the bride’s natural beauty by focusing on the skin. He is used to working with natural beauties like Elizabeth Moss or Jessica Alba, so he knows what he’s doing. Martin also reportedly works with Dior Makeup and Honest Beauty. According to him, Meghan always wants to keep her skin as natural as possible, even when wearing makeup. He started by applying a clarifying toner to prep her skin. The makeup artist then applied a water-based moisturizer and finally, a Korean sunscreen to act as a base for the rest of the makeup.

He revealed that the then used concealer and foundation in very small quantities to balance her skin tone and conceal certain discolorations. The Dior models wore the same foundation, contour palette and warm neutral tones that Markle also wore for her big day.
Peter Philips revealed that this look is for a strong woman who feels great in her own skin. The brows were also the focal point of this look, leaving the skin, eyelids and lips as natural as possible. Also, if it sounds easy enough for you to do it at home, that’s because it is. Anyone can do it and look great au naturel!
