Finally, a smartwatch that is more than an accessory: the LG Watch Urbane second edition.
LG Watch Urbane 2 is not your typical Android Wear smartwatch and differs greatly from what its predecessor had to offer. And the main offerings are all packed in functionality.
It is sleeker, it looks better, it is more refined. But that’s not what’s at play and what is bound to make LG Watch Urbane one of the most sought smartwatches on the wearables market. This is the first wearable that hosts cellular connectivity. Which basically means you can finally forget your phone at home. Provided, of course, you don’t find it awkward to take a phone call on your watch.
Cellular connectivity allows users to connect LG Watch Urbane 2 via Wi-fi, Bluetooth, 3G or 4G, offering the great advantage of enhanced independence. Moreover, you don’t need to be choosing and comparing between networks and providers, because this model isn’t carrier-locked. The nano-SIM is free to use at your disposal. So anything stored on the phone may easily be accessed from your wrist, including data, contacts, emails, text messages and many others.
The LG Watch Urbane 2 is powered by the 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. It also sports 768MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, as well as a 570mAh battery. The 1.38-inch P-OLED display comes with 480×480 resolution. The IP67 rating assures us that LG Watch Urbane 2 is dust and water resistant as well. Might come handy!
Moreover, it keeps the barometer, accelerometer, GPS and gyro and raises you three extra buttons designed for functionality. These are shortcuts to the app list featuring on the smartwatch, to LG Health and to contacts.
The price tag for the LG Watch Urbane 2 hasn’t been made public yet. However, the U.S. market and the Korean market are the first to find out when it rolls out, followed by the Middle East, Asia, CIS and of course Europe.
Make up your mind beforehand on what color looks better on your wrist. Could it be the signature brown, the space black, the luxe white or the opal blue?
