A study conducted by researchers from Chapman University, Indiana University, and the Kinsey Institute found that heterosexual women have the fewest orgasms from all demographics. You might have been aware of a rumor that lesbian women have more orgasms than heterosexual ones and now you have the proof.
The researchers surveyed over 52,000 Americans and looked at their orgasm frequency. As mentioned before, many of us knew of the high discrepancy between heterosexual and lesbian women. Nikki Leigh, Love Coach and host of Ready for Love radio, explains this phenomenon.
She explains that straight women usually keep their desires hidden from their partner. Lesbian women are dealing with their sexual potential in a different way and are more likely to be more honest with their partner and have a better communication. These factors are really important for a woman to improve her orgasmic potential.
Leigh advises hetero women to try to communicate more with their partners and be more open about what they like and what they don’t, without being afraid that their partner might judge them. Also, heterosexual intercourse revolves too much around vaginal penetration. Women are more likely to orgasm if, besides this, oral sex and manual stimulation is involved.
The results of the research are quite unsurprising. Those who orgasm the most are straight men and this most surely should not surprise anyone. The statistics showed that 95 percent of them usually or always have an orgasm during sex.
Those who come next in the top are gay and bisexual men. This, again, might not be surprising. Eighty-eight percent of them declared that they had orgasms every time or most of the time.
The next place is, of course, occupied by lesbian women, but what might come as a surprise is the high percentage of those who declared having orgasms on a regular basis. They come really close to gays and bisexuals with 86 percent.
Things start getting a little more unpleasant when we look at straight and bisexual women. Only 66 percent of bisexual women and 65 percent of straight women stated that they usually had orgasms during intercourse.
Since percentages are so high in lesbian women and bisexual women are more likely to be in a relationship with a man and not a woman, it appears that women might have a problem in establishing a deep physical connection with men. If they communicated more, maybe they would be able to achieve what they like more often.
