Hearthstone: The Grand Tournament Goes Live

Hearthstone is one of Blizzard’s most successful titles and it is set for even more grandeur with the newest expansion: The Grand Tournament. The expansion is now live, so all players who are interested in having the fun of their life are welcome to join the brand new environment. With over 130 new cards to add to your deck, you are going to have the time of your life.

The Grand Tournament is a little redundant, especially because it sounds so nice. But the truth is that the expansion is taking players to one of the creepiest and coldest regions in Warcraft’s World: Northrend. But the point of the game is that heroes of the Argent Crusade held a great tournament many years ago in order to select the greatest champions the land has ever seen.

The expansion is practically a duelist heaven, presenting players with new, devastating tools and techniques that they might use to conquer their enemies. Some of these new, great features include the Inspire mechanic or challenging your foes to a battle of strength, wits and honor: the joust.

The minions that you have on the board can be inspired via a Hero Power and they can gain new abilities such as increased attack, increased health and some of them can even call for backup if the battle does seem to go in your favor. Jousts are practically a battle in between two random minions chosen form each deck and the rewards are quite appealing. If you win, you win big.

Mike Morhaime, the CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, is assuring players that the new features that have been added to Hearthstone will give it a cool “tournament vibe” that everybody will enjoy. Blizz is also interested in seeing how the players’ imagination will flourish, perhaps paving the way for some awesome new techniques and play styles.

While all of the previous options within the game are still available to players, there are also increased chances of winning Grand Tournament card packs in the Arena Mode. As usual, players can craft their own cards using Arcane Dust. The dust can be obtained by breaking cards which are of no interest to the player.

So what are you waiting for? If you haven’t played Hearthstone for a while, this is the perfect time for you to head in and enjoy the fun. There are a lot of things for you to look forward to and working for some of your favorite cards might keep you glued for a few hours every day.
