Are you sad that you are single on Valentine’s Day? Gears of War 4 has got your back, by offering a week-long event and some special surprises better than any Valentine present.
Gears of War 4 will make you forget everything about the holiday of love by giving you some love on the battlefield starting February 10th, by celebrating the return of the popular multiplayer mode Torque Bow for an entire week in a special event.
This event does not only promise a good time that you can have together with your geeky friends, but also bounties especially themed for Valentine’s Day, a new customizable character, and two new maps – War Machine and Impact Dark.
This Valentine’s event may soon be over, but the new maps are not. They are here to stay. Impact Dark is an updated version of the already existing arena called Impact. The update consists of changing the time of the day from bright daylight to pitch dark night, the game gets more intense as the entire surface of the battlefield is now covered in thick smoke.
The other map is also an update on an already existing one. It is a reimagining of the renowned War Machine stage that was to be found in the first game. Thus, War Machine will live its first time in Gears of War 4. The setting changed from the old and creepy train station to a COG settlement that looks really grandiose.
This may seem like a big change in the original design of the map. When asked how they think the old school fans would react, the developers from The Coalition answered that they had something prepared for them, too. They might have changed the details, but the design of the core map has remained unchanged.
Also, in order to keep you more engaged in the game, Gears of War 4 now has a lot of refinements in the gameplay, such as the long awaited improvements to The Guardian mode.
The Valentine’s update is available to download as we speak, and it also features pass holders for the new maps. This update might not be as complex as the Gears of War 4 Christmas version, but we have to admit it offers quite an enjoyable way to spend Valentine’s Day than sitting all day and eating heart-shaped chocolates.
