A Los Angeles-based denim company called Carmar has sparked a huge controversy online after debuting their extreme cut out jeans. The pants have the price of $168 and leave little to the imagination. People on social media platforms immediately reacted to the fact that the jeans’ design is exaggerated and wondered who would buy and actually wear those. On Carmar’s official website, the jeans are described as a high rise pair of pants with statement cutouts on the back and front. They are also reportedly loose fitting and a long front zipper. It’s ironical how such a pair of jeans need such a long zipper to cover what’s left for it to cover.
Actually, the company has never claimed anything else but have described the jeans as specially designed for the “free spirited generation of today”. And if the design of the jeans was not enough to scare you, then their price just might. The company is selling them for about $200, despite the fact that little to almost no fabric was used for their creation. So, what will people be paying for? Well, probably the honor of being one of the first to wear such a pair of pants.

The company went even further and posted a picture of a model wearing the jeans on the street with the tagline “for those who dare to bare”. People immediately started commenting on the company’s Instagram page wondering who would even pay $200 for a pair of jeans that they can easily make at home. Also, who would wear such a thing in public?
However, it seems that not everyone hates them. According to the company, the jeans are currently sold out on the website. Whoever wants to buy a pair now has to be put on a waiting list.
