At Cinema-Con, Disney decided to finally reveal the first look at Tim Burton’s upcoming live-action remake of the classic Dumbo animated movie. According to the opinions of those who were present there, the movie is reminiscent of other equally fascinating movies like Oz the Great and Powerful, and The Greatest Showman. However, apart from this, Disney also had more to offer to its audience. It seems that the studio also revealed the live-action version of the opening scene in Lion King, the iconic Circle of Life.
The live-action remake of Lion King is scheduled to hit theatres on July 19, 2019. Another behind-the-scenes look was that of the upcoming Guy Ritchie-directed movie Aladdin. It seems that the audience at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace were most excited by the Lion King live-action adaptation. Most people said that real-looking animals make a huge difference and that baby Simba and Rafiki look incredible. The opening sequence is reportedly taken shot-by-shot from the original animated movie.
Disney offers the first look at Aladdin, Dumbo and Lion King
As for Dumbo, Disney reportedly only presented concept images of the popular elephant. Danny DeVito, who plays one of the main human characters in the movie, said that the live-action version will extend the story we know. While the original ends with Dumbo flying, this one will begin there. Colin Farrell, another member of the cast, said that this will be a family movie.
Even if Tim Burton is responsible for it, the audience said that there are no trippy and bizarre images or scary characters present. The movie is scheduled to open on March 29, 2019.
In the Aladdin featurette, Will Smith, who plays the Genie, says that this story is perfect. New distribution head Cathleen Taff described the new Genie as a combination of Fresh Prince, Hitch, and a lot of attitude. Aladdin opens on May 24, 2019.
