You might already be familiar with CJ Pearson, the young conservative who “started a career” out of challenging Obama via Twitter and YouTube. Things got a little more complicated on Wednesday, when CJ was banned from @POTUS and told his 38,600 followers that the President of the United States blocked his Twitter access. This obviously started a controversy on whether the White House is behind this or not.
CJ did not take his ban lightly and he posted a screen of the block accompanied by the message “Well, this sucks” as a sign of protest that his access was restricted from @POTUS tweets and views. Obviously, a few questions arise. Who blocked CJ from @POTUS and is CJ blaming Obama in order to indirectly promote free speech, or just to make a show and get more fame out of it.
CJ is a 13 year old boy who is currently in middle-school. He does use a Twitter account, but he is not doing what the rest of the peers are. It all started in February, when CJ created a famous YouTube video that reflected feelings from a former New York City mayor: Rudy Giuliani. I his video, CJ is asking questions and demanding straight answers from Barack Obama: does he really love America or not?
In his video, CJ claims that “President Obama doesn’t love America. If he loved America, he would not call ISIS what it is. If he loved America, he wouldn’t take away what hard working Americans have worked for their entire lives.” Of course, while CJ’s words are heard and they resonate with the public, it is quite obvious that he is a teenager looking to make a name for himself, not exactly familiar with how politics work.
Despite its ambiguous message, the video scored 2 million views. The GOP’s took notice of him quickly and his “career” exploded. CJ is now a public figure on Facebook, he had an interview with Ted Cruz back in May and he also was the national chairman of the well-known group “Teens for Ted”.
CJ’s voice was heard again this month as another of his YouTube videos sky-rocketed with views. CJ blamed Obama for inviting the 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed to the White House. Mohamed was arrested for having brought a home-made clock to school and, for this injustice, Obama brought him to the White House. CJ asked Obama why he didn’t bring gunned people’s families to the White House and he brought Ahmed instead.
So what do you think? Is CJ a hero that America needs or a child who does not know much about politics and wants to make a name for himself through criticizing everything?
