It seems that legendary singer Celine Dion is taking a short break and has decided to put her health above anything else. So, on Wednesday, she officially announced that she cancelled some upcoming Las Vegas shows in March and April. The reason for this is the singer’s need to undergo a “minimally invasive surgically procedure”. According to the announcement, Dion has been dealing with a rare condition which affects her middle ear, known as Patulous Eustachian tube. The problem is not severe, but considering she is a singer and the condition causes hearing irregularities, she cannot postpone the surgery any longer.
It seems that the My Heart Will Go On singer has been struggling with this issue for the past 12 to 18 months. During all this time, she used ear drops as treatment for the condition. Unfortunately, the medication didn’t seem to be working anymore so she had to take the decision to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

In the statement, the Canadian singer is saying that she was looking forward to these two shows. Unfortunately, the unexpected happened. She also apologized to her fans and admitted that they must feel disappointed, as she does too. However, fans should not be too sad. Celine Dion is scheduled to resume her performances on May 22, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. As for those who have already purchased tickets for the Las Vegas shows, they will get refunds.
This is not the first time this year that Celion Dion had to cancel some shows. Earlier this year she cancelled seven of them because of congestion and irritation of the vocal chords that persisted because of a cold. Fortunately, her good friend, British singer Adele, managed to catch one of her shows and enjoyed it very much.
