Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo have recently revealed the voice behind on of the most interesting villains of the upcoming movie. Fargo and The Leftovers actress Carrie Coon is going to voice Proxima Midnight, the only female member of the Black Order, a group made out of Thanos’ children. They are the ones helping him obtain all of the Infinity Stones and wreak havoc on our favorite superheroes. The other members of this villainous order are Cull Obsidian (Terry Notary), Ebony Maw (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor), and Corvus Glaive, played by a yet-unrevealed actor.
Apart from this, another interesting detail was revealed by director Joe Russo. During the Avengers: Infinity War Red Carpet Fan Event in Singapore, he introduced actor benedict Cumberbatch onstage under the title of Sorcerer Supreme. Cumberbatch himself later referred to his character using the same title that fans know very well. And considering how careful Marvel is about the terminology that is associated with the superheroes, we can be sure that Doctor Strange will be the Sorcerer Supreme by the time Avengers: Infinity War takes place.
Doctor Strange is finally Sorcerer Supreme
It’s interesting that before its release, it was revealed that the Doctor Strange solo movie would not include the story of how he rose to the Masters of the Mystic Arts’ highest rank. It surely dealt with other problems. However, fans began wondering when we will get to see this storyline, in Avengers: Infinity War or maybe in Doctor Strange 2? The answer would probably be in both.
Fans might meet Doctor Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme in Avengers: Infinity War, but they will probably get to see how he acquired the title in an upcoming second installment of his solo franchise. One thing is sure, Strange will suffer a lot of the hands of the Black Order, as we’ve seen in the trailers by now, as he is the keeper of the Time Stone. Villain Thanos wants that one too for his Infinity Gauntlet.
